Oh my goodness… 2020. What the hell.
I’m not too sure what you’re playing at, but I am not feeling this dramatic start to the next decade of my life.
Can we just start over? Can we just move on from this now and begin the next phase of normality?
On a more serious note..
I’ve learnt a lot over the past 7 months of 2020. Some of which, I never ever knew that I would need to learn, until it hit me right in the face. Let me share some with you.
1. Food Storage
Why be desperate when trouble strikes? I have now realised the importance of having extras of each item bought (food wise mainly but you can involve other home products if you want). I now make sure that I have at least 2 of one tin of ‘chopped tomatoes’, for example. This is to allow for us to be slightly more prepared for horrible occasions like we have been in, and the likelihood of not being able to get the items we need. Be prepared. This will also lead to you having plenty in the home and never going without.
2. Health comes first
You can have the best job, with the best income, the best care, the best house, but without your health, NONE of that exists.
Just pause and think about that.
Our health is KEY to living life to the fullest. Some people don’t live in this life, clear of health issues. We should fully take advantage of the fact that we can move our bodies and keep our bodies healthy, and live longer and stronger. Please, PLEASE take care of yourselves. I hope this pandemic has taught you that health comes first in our lives. It is something not to be trifled with and something that we need to take seriously.
3. Read the CORRECT news.
If you look into any articles from sucky media companies and magazine companies, you will find that most of them are not true. Pay attention to what they say, YES. But to live your life by believing them? HELL NO. Do your own research. Don’t just jump to conclusions. Find out what the best media and new reporting company is. You know who the bad ones are, I don’t think I need to ‘make a scene’ and destroy companies here.
4. Figure out what you want, and go for it.
For some reason, this hasn’t really sunk in for me yet. I don’t really know what I want from life. But then.. Is that because people tell me that I don’t know what I want, just because I aspire to do a lot of things? Yes.. probably. So maybe I am ready, I have a lot of pipeline projects that I keep under my belt, but I should be pursuing them all. Why can’t I achieve them all? Why can’t I become who I want to be? There is no reason I can’t. Only my own thoughts and my own hands to go and do the work needed to get the job done.
Find the fire in your belly that gets you doing what you love. What are you actually waiting for? Save up for that course if you need a course to do the job you love. Quit your job if you feel that it is not serving you any joy anymore. (Do this sensibly by the way.. If you have bills to pay and no other income, then you may have to do some very hard work to try and pursue your dream… BUT YOU HAVE GOT THIS.)
Let your mind run wild with your ideas and wants in life, and GO AFTER THEM.
What are you actually waiting for?
2020 has not been a great year so far, for the world, but in many ways it has been a time of reflection for me. I have changed the way I think of myself, and realised that I need to be in a calm, peaceful environment to flourish. It’s amazing to me to think a global pandemic had to come crashing and bombarding its way into my life, in order for me to take life seriously, in the sense of doing what I want to do.
Hopefully we can all make the changes from this period of reflection. It’s time to grow now.. It’s time to move on from the person we were before Lockdown.
It is time.
